Product Construction Engineer

Now we are looking for Product Construction Engineers.

In this assignment your main responsibilities will be:
-Develop the mechanical design of furniture products from concept sketch to final product.
-Develop and maintain the digital models on a detail level
-Securing that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the product design
-Order and manage prototype manufacturing
-Perform construction testing on prototypes
-Finalize and maintain drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances
-Be the main contact with IoS prototype department
-Establish a network within IKEA of Sweden (also for future use) and be active in user forums for the role Product Construction Engineer.

Is this the challenge for you?

We are looking for an Engineer with University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent job related experience. You will be an important cog in the technical team working with Product Development and Product improvement of the running range. You have experience from product development within the similar area or products.

Experience of product development in different kind of materials and production methods is meriting. You should have a very good competence related to 3D CAD engineering (Solid Works preferred), and a good understanding of FEM analysis and basic structural dimensioning. Experience in project management is of course meriting.

As a person you have the ability to create, anchor and communicate common point of view for the technical agenda. You are able to take a stand in the important matters but you are also willing to challenge known patterns. You are a problem solver and a good communicator. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.
