About Joint Academy
We are a team of scientists, software engineers, designers and other professionals creating a digital treatment for one of the world's most common ailments: osteoarthritis. Our platform connects patients with licensed physiotherapists, and gives them access to education and an individualized daily schedule of exercises. Everything we do is based on world-class science, and the effectiveness of our treatment has been validated by several peer-reviewed studies. In order to continue to improve our user experience for our patients and physical therapists, we are now looking for a Product Copywriter to further strengthen our product organisation.
Our Thesis
80% of global healthcare costs is incurred by fifteen chronic diseases. Joint pain caused by osteoarthritis (OA) is among the top five of this list, costing $189 billion annually in the US alone. With aging populations and a steady increase in total joint replacements, the costs for OA treatments will become overwhelming for health care systems in a foreseeable future. At the same time, specific exercise, education and coaching by a physical therapist have been scientifically shown to be more effective than medication and joint replacements for most patients. There is a great opportunity here for better outcomes for patients and greatly reduced costs for public and private health insurers. Joint Academy fundamentally changes OA treatment by delivering an evidence-based, scalable and cost-effective online solution.
About the role
We are looking for a talented Product Copywriter to help our team communicate with patients through our two mobile apps. As a Product Copywriter you will be part of the Product team, and directly responsible for the product copy in both Swedish and in English. You will help the team to create and maintain a tone of voice that fits our brand and write content related to our chronic pain treatment as well as general product copy.
You will:
Write copy for content displayed to patients (exercise instructions, text lessons etc)
Write copy for content displayed to our Physical Therapists (helping them to guide our patients, handle medical records etc)
Work with UI copy for the app (button labels, pop-ups etc)
Write copy for new features developed for our apps
Produce a terminology guideline and localized content
Own and maintain a coherent tone of voice in the apps
Influence the choices we make around tools used for product copy
Manage any translations needed from external translators as we expand outside of Swedish- and English speaking markets

Requirements
Native proficiency in written US English and in Swedish, as you will be responsible for copy for both markets
A degree in Copywriting, Content Writing or equivalent education
3-5 years of experience from copywriting, content editing or similar roles
Experience in UX-writing and producing copy for apps and other digital products is highly valued
Previous experience in writing copy within healthcare is a big plus; if not you need a curious mindset with a strong desire to learn a new field
Ability to master a range of channels and deliver copy according to their varying formats
A creative mindset, with the ability to execute as well as bringing new copy and content ideas
The ability to adapt to feedback, changes and deadlines

We know that we are asking for a lot, but the demands are based on the fact that our apps are out on two markets (Sweden and US), and that the person will work with both shorter UI copy as well as longer text. It will be the first (and only) role of its kind, which means that you cannot rely on someone else to translate or proofread your copy. It’s not too much about writing texts from scratch, but rather using drafts from our science/medical team and adapting them to our tone of voice, our terminology and to a structure that fits a mobile screen, including deciding where to add illustrations and other images. Please include a portfolio with your application. We will review new applications continuously and the role might be filled before the last application date, so don't wait with sending in your application!
Benefits
You will work with something meaningful and help to improve the lives of our patients every day
You will have the opportunity to work with a unique mix of people with different expertise, including leading academic scientists, medical professionals and experienced product developers
30 days paid vacation
Pension and insurance package
Flexible working hours
Wellness contribution and workout during working hours.
