At Epidemic Sound we are reinventing the music industry. Our carefully curated catalog, with over 35,000 tracks, is tailored for storytellers, streaming services, and in-store soundtracks. Countless clients around the world, from broadcasters, production companies, DSPs, and YouTubers rely on our tracks to help them tell their stories. Epidemic Sound’s music is heard in hundreds of millions of online videos daily, across millions of playlist streams, and in thousands of in-store locations. Headquartered in Stockholm, we’re spread across offices in New York City, Los Angeles, Seoul, Hamburg, and Amsterdam. We’re growing fast, have lots of fun, and are taking the music industry with us.
This year we launched a new mobile platform team in the Core Music Experience product area. The team is responsible for steering our efforts in creating the Epidemic Sound App on iOS and Android.
The team's mission is to empower our users to discover and organize our music on the go, be it through casually browsing, searching with great precision, or personalized recommendations.
We are now looking for a Product Data Scientist that can support the team in the future growth of the Epidemic Sound App.
How you will make an impact
Working closely with the team, you will find and deliver actionable insights in our data to help our product grow. You will support the team in experiment strategy and A/B test design, ensuring that tests are impactful, insights are actionable and drive business value.
You will play a key role in building the research capabilities of a growing team, cooperate with analysts embedded in various teams/departments and make sure we have a holistic view of our business areas. Furthermore, you will drive improvements in how we work with data, the tools we use and how we can improve our data assets to maximize productivity.
Who you are
We believe you love teamwork, have a curious mindset, and have experience working closely with cross-functional product teams. You're skilled in data analysis, visualization, communication, and parsing opportunities from vast amounts of data using SQL, R, Python, pencils, recycled paper, and whiteboards. We also believe you are strong in quantitative analysis, statistics and mathematics. You have the ability to draw insights to add real value to the business.
Other skills we believe you have:
- 1+ year of working experience in a similar data scientist role and a degree in science, computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline
- Experience working with apps is highly desirable
- Fluency in Python or R for data analysis
- Excellent understanding of SQL
- Experience performing analysis with large datasets
- Experience working closely with a cross-functional product team
- Good understanding of cloud technologies. We use GCP
- Experience with experimentation and a/b testing
- Good understanding of data engineering practices and data modeling
- Fluency in English, verbal and written
- Merit to those with significant experience from a growing product-focused company
