About the job

As a Product Design Engineer, you will be an essential asset to the R&D team. You will work closely with the entire R&D team consisting of a mix of designers and engineers, bringing designs from concepts to reality. You are constantly challenged to find solutions that keeps the design integrity while safeguarding Hem’s high quality standards (durability, sustainability, certifications, etc.) through-out the development process.

About you

You are curious, ambitious, and self-driven. You have a keen sense of quality and design, being able to focus on the details as well as taking the bigger picture into consideration. You have an excellent understanding of furniture design, materials used, production techniques, and structural integrity. Where you are lacking knowledge, you will make sure to be proactive to learn and understand. You see a breaking chair or a complex production technique as exciting puzzles waiting to be solved.

Your Experience

- Minimum 3 years of experience from a similar position in the furniture industry
- You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Engineering or similar
- You have been working on a daily basis with 2D and 3D CAD, including surface modelling
- You have an outstanding knowledge about materials and production processes
- You are technically skilled and like to find and test new solutions
- You are fluent in spoken and written English
- You have strong communication skills and work in a structured and efficient manner
- You are proactive, finding solutions before the problems arise
- You take ownership for tasks, products and situations
- You have developed several mass-produced products, from idea to production
- You are a leader with project management skill

- Work extent: Full time
- Location: Stockholm, Vasastan. The position is based at our Head office in Stockholm, however Non-Swedish residents are welcome to apply.
