Join the planet’s most important fight!
Normative is now looking for a Product Design Lead.
Normative is accelerating the transition to a net zero world. We provide science-based carbon accounting software and tailored advice from net zero experts, enabling companies to reduce their carbon footprints.
In this role you will lead our talented product design team, working together to define the strategy, operations, and communications that guide the team to think big, ship small and most importantly address real customer needs. You will be expected to utilize your full range of people management skills, product strategy, product design, interaction design and visual design skills.
Our current team consists of two product designers using their craft to impact the biggest challenge of our time; climate change. We are looking for a humble and inclusive leader who can coach and inspire but also can use excellent product design skills in hands-on work such as mockups & prototypes, user research, and collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver great products. We believe that for your first 6-12 months you will have a 75/25 split between hands-on work and managerial responsibilities so this is a great entry role for a new manager.
What you will do at Normative:
- Build and manage a talented, diverse, inclusive team of product designers that consistently delivers on projects
- Drive overall design team performance and health, resource allocation, prioritization, and building a culture of design excellence in collaboration with your team
- Contribute to the day to day design work with delivering user experiences from conception to launch in partnership with product managers, engineers, and product marketing
- Proactively solicit and provide feedback from designers and a broader product team in order to continually raise our bar for quality, while also taking on mentorship
- Cultivate a healthy design process for the team, and be a key contributor to your organization's product strategy
Experience we’re seeking:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, and marketing in SaaS software
- 1+ years of design leadership experience, preferably with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a love for UX challenges
- A passion for great leadership and seeing team members grow
- Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking with the experience developing product goals, identify opportunities, and make and delegate decisions based on the impact to people and the company
- Experience representing work to a broader team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
We also believe you:
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Care deeply about making a real contribution towards a sustainable future
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of finding the most effective solutions for our customers
Any company would say its employees are smart, capable, and fun to work with - and our employees certainly are! But we’re also driven by an unshakable sense of purpose, an urgency to act, and the motivation to devote our talents and energy to fighting the planet’s most important fight.
Location
Normative operates on a hybrid remote model with a main office in Stockholm. For this role you can be based either in Stockholm or work remotely within Sweden.
When hired remotely within Sweden, we will offer you a home office set up and you will be expected to travel to Stockholm to meet your team/the company approximately 6 times per year ( depending on role). To ensure we practice what we preach we use trains for trips under 6 hours of travel and flights only for longer travels.
The process
We adopt a continuous selection process, so make sure to apply with your CV and portfolio as soon as possible! Normative handles sensitive financial data and we will therefore conduct a background check before signing any candidate.
We welcome diversity with open arms and want to see candidates from different backgrounds and experiences.
