Product Design Specialist

Want to be part of sustainable growth journey? Uponor Infra is investing in innovation and sustainable growth and is now recruiting a Product Design Specialist for permanent contract. Location will be Uponor site in Fristad, Sweden.
As a Product Design Specialist in Uponor Infra, you will have a key role in innovation creation and new product development. Your main responsibility is the creation and development of CAD/2D drawings and 3D CAD models for new products, but you will also have overall project management responsibilities for the new product development projects. You will work in the R&D team, interacting closely with Uponor Infra Application Managers, production facilities, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Manage new product development projects with the support from rest of the organization
Act as the owner for developing and creating CAD/2D drawings and 3D CAD models for new products
Act as the owner for creating technical product data and product design in PDM/Windchill-system for new products
Be the focal point and facilitator in different product development activities
Make feasibility studies and concept designs for new product ideas

Requirements:
Skills and experience in product design with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo)
Skills and experience in Project Management
Skills and experience in new product development
Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken
Team-player with good interpersonal skills
Good communication skills with ability to create documentation and reports
B.Sc or M.Sc in Mechanical, Plastics, Material technology or other relevant field of study

Other skills that are considered as an advantage:
Work experience in infrastructure industry, especially in water handling or distribution
Good understanding of extruder, rotation moulding, or injection moulding processes as manufacturing methods
Good understanding of material chemistry, especially of plastics
Overall knowledge of digitalization and BIM-technics
Fluent in Finnish
