Product Developer

Product Developer

Arbetsbeskrivning

At Ridestore, we believe that turning a sketch into a finished product is an exciting journey of innovation. As a Product Developer, you'll play a crucial role in this journey. Your mission is to transform aesthetic visions into functional products that truly resonate with our customers.

Here's what you'll do

Being a Product Developer at Ridestore is more than just a job; it's a journey of growth, learning, and significant contributions to our production team's ongoing success. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will be key in navigating the complexities of production timelines and achieving successful project outcomes. You'll ensure timely delivery of styles with the proper construction, quality, pricing, and lead time.

- Take ownership and lead the development process for specific products assigned to you.

- Collaborate with designers to understand the aesthetic and functional requirements of each product

- Provide feedback on the feasibility of design concepts, considering timelines, production techniques, and technical construction

- Create detailed technical specifications and construction drawings for each product, coordinating with pattern makers and suppliers

- Conduct regular inspections of samples, focusing on construction to ensure functionality and performance

- Monitor product development timelines closely and troubleshoot any issues that may arise

On a regular day, you'll work closely with our passionate product team, reviewing products in detail and engaging in discussions with suppliers and team members. You'll keep timelines on track, prioritize work and samples effectively, and collaborate with other functions to understand the unique characteristics of our products.

In the long term, you'll drive product development projects such as construction libraries and embrace new digital tools for product development. You'll continue to excel in your short-term missions while further developing your expertise.

Sounds interesting, right? This is who we’re looking for

We envision you as someone who has worked with outerwear brands, ski brands, workwear, or similar, where functionality is a fundamental aspect of product design. Your focus is more on the technical aspects rather than the design itself.

To hit the ground running in this role, you need to have:

- Extensive experience in product development for functional outerwear.

- Deep knowledge of Illustrator.

- A clear understanding of lead times and product development processes.

It would be even better if you have experience working with suppliers in Asia, but if not, a willingness to learn quickly is essential.

In addition to your skills, we believe if you have the following, you will thrive in this role:

- A business-oriented mindset

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the team and external partners

- Strong self-management skills to steer projects autonomously

- A structured mind to keep projects on track

- Problem-solving skills to tackle the coming bumps in the road

- Humble to the bones and know how to laugh

- Where will you work?

While Ridestore operates in many countries, for this role, it's important to be present at our office (https://career.ridestore.com/pages/gothenburg) in Gothenburg, Sweden, at least three times a week. Our production team is based there, and your presence will be crucial.

Join us and enjoy the freedom to work in a passionate and somewhat snowy environment where you can make a significant impact on the Ridestore journey with your work.

Application Pro-tip

Please do not put any effort into writing a cover letter before applying; instead, you will get to write answers to some questions that we find interesting for this role! And please, write it yourself; we love to use AI tools, but in this case, we want to see the real person. Good luck, and have fun!
