Position as product developer at Veg of Lund AB
Subject description
As the demand for meat grows, meat analogs have been positioned as a way for consumers to switch their dietary protein sources to help reduce their global climate impact. Today, several meat analogs on the market can compete with traditional meat products, despite being made of various plant proteins. However, challenges to mimic mouthfeel and texture surrounding meat analogs continue to persist.
Veg of Lund AB has in collaboration with a meat company started the development of a meat analogue based on different plant proteins using primarily extrusion technology. The job as a product developer will mainly focus on this task.
Work duties
· To keep up with relevant literature in this specific area.
· Working out methodology for extrusion of plant-based meat analogues
· Working out methodology to quantify the properties of the produced meat analogues
· Collaboration with industry partners
· Documentation of progress
· Administration related to the work duties listed above
Qualification requirements Applicants must have:
· Master’s degree in Food Technology
· Experience with extrusion technology
· Experience in innovative technology and working in a start-up environment could be a merit
· Experience of working in an international setting
· Good oral and written proficiency in English
· Swedish language is a bonus
Consideration will also be given to good collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing work in the area.
Terms of employment Fixed-term employment, 100 %, 5 months from 1st of August.
