We are looking for people who know product creation and development inside out, have a great eye for trends, interest in technical solutions and know how to informally lead projects and teams. The Product Developer is at the heart of the IKEA Democratic Design process: the development of great home furnishing offer focusing on form, function, sustainability, price and quality based on a holistic and customer centric view.
The Product Developer you are responsible for:
-Leading the product development process
-Developing and managing a profitable and high performing range in the designated product area
-Leading the design process in close cooperation with the designers, and securing IKEA identity in each product
-Challenging the existing points of view and drive creativity and innovation
-Responsible for involving and optimizing cross-functional competencies and stakeholders in the development team
-Communicating the strategic and the operational status of the development process with all stakeholders
-Optimizing the IKEA total value chain possibilities through developing on the home-, factory- and store floor
-Securing that our product offer is based on knowledge and research about life at home
-Translating relevant strategies and business needs in to objectives
We want someone to continuously push the boundaries in terms of innovation, value, sustainability and simplicity in our product development process. Delivery is a big focus in this role, and we will require a product developer to deliver projects on time and within budget.
YOUR PROFILE
A Product Developer is technical driven by the passion to develop the future products of Integrated lighting at IKEA and create a better everyday life for the many people. Someone who have the ability to see things from a customer?s perspective and conceptualize things that don?t exist. This means that this is a challenging and rewarding position with enormous impact on the many people around the world.
For a person to be successful in this role there is a need to have experience in product development. Knowledge, experience and passion for home furnishing, design, style and trends are definitely a must. We love what we do and we seek people who love their work too and who share our values in their professional and everyday life.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
-Good knowledge about product development and business development
-Cross HFB collaboration experience as this is key to succeed
-The ability to lead creative processes and cooperate effectively with designers, consumers and suppliers
-Ability to work with conceptual ideas, and also able to bring these into final solutions
-Solid IKEA knowledge, or the willingness to acquire quickly, but comprehend the IKEA idea of creating a better everyday life for the many
-Passion & deep knowledge about life at home and customer needs
-The ability to explore different perspectives, be innovative and be comfortable in the unknown
-A constant urge to improve, develop, change and influence
-A truly curious and courageous mind-set
-Fluency in English, bot spoken and written
-Preferably a design education at BA or MA level
