Product Development Engineer

Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry. The offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling, as well as materials handling.

Rock Tools R&D is responsible for the development of all the tools at Sandvik Mining. We develop and support new and existing tools for construction and mining equipment for Top Hammer, Down the Hole and Rotary Drilling. Operations are conducted at several locations, and in collaboration with various customer segments. We are currently looking for a Product Development Engineer for Rotary Tools with placement in Sandviken.

Key performance areas
You work with development and construction of new products, follow up on existing products, and take care of special requests. You also work with CAD-drawing and design documents. You supply service to production units, provide support to the business in technical matters, and make field visits to see how the products are performing.

Your responsibilities include leading and participating in development projects, as well as proposing new projects, and you build knowledge and expertise about our products and monitor the development of the same. You cooperate with groups such as marketing, customers, universities and production units.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Physics, with at least three year work experience in a relevant field. Experience from product development and project management is advantageous. This also applies to experience from the mining and manufacturing industry. You have good knowledge of CAD/PDM modeling and are well acquainted with MS Office. Experience of FEA and the systems NX and Teamcenter is advantageous. Your communication skills in English are excellent, in both writing and speaking, and good knowledge of Swedish and Spanish is beneficial.
