About the job
As a Product Development Engineer in Textiles you are responsible for bringing in all technical aspects into the product development cycle and act as a technical project leader. The PDE is responsible for planning and leading the technical resources in the product development projects and securing all parts of Democratic design from a technical perspective.
Business Area Textile consist of 3 Home furnishing businesses, covering bed and bath textiles, cushions, throws, curtains, blinds and rugs. We have 5 product development teams working cross-functional to deliver news to our customers. As PDE are you the representative for the technical development in one of these teams.
Please note that this is an advert for building up a pool of candidates for upcoming Product Development Engineer vacancies that we expect to have over the next 6 to 12 months.
The assignment It is all about lead the technical development in the product development process, to secure creative, production adapted solutions to exceed customer expectation in quality and sustainability. It consists of actively searching information and knowledge contributing to technical development and share this amongst the product development team members and technical specialist. The PDE is highly involved in defining, executing, delivering and maintaining the product development project as well as securing the right competence and resources from a technical perspective. Delivery, leadership, communication and working with people are a large focus in this role.

? - Product development working experience.
? - Minimum 4-5 years of working experience within project management and/or leadership in a global cross functional environment.
? - University degree in preferable Textile engineering or other relevant education.
To be successful in this role you need to be an excellent communicator, capability to make decisions in an ever changing environment and have a strong passion for people - to lead, manage and motivate. You are able to create togetherness by working with and through others. An analytical mind-set in combination with a holistic view on strategic business decisions and the capability to build strong relations and trust with stakeholders and team members is essential. You will interact and work together with stakeholders from all around IKEA and the world. Our corporate language is English, so fluency both verbally and in writing is required.
IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduce 2,000 new products in the IKEA stores. The total range is almost 10,000 products.
