Product Development Engineer

Product Development Center (PDC) Tools TH/DTH/RR is responsible for development and support of new and current tools for the mining and construction industry within top hammer, down-the-hole drilling and rotary for Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC).PDC Tools TH/DTH/RR is a global organization working with all the segments, a Product Development Engineer you will be based in Sandviken, Sweden.Key performance areas As Product Development Engineer you will be responsible for development and design work for the specified product area. Key performance areas: -lead, stimulate and participate in product development projects within PDC Tools -cooperate and communicate with different groups, such as market, customer, universities and manufacturing, in the development work -create new ideas and compile suggestions for new product development projects -application knowledge and competence within the product area -support manufacturing, marketing, sales, etc.on technical issues -visit customers and perform field tests Your profile To be a successful candidate for this position you have a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Physics or equivalent.You also have a few years working experience from qualified research and development activities or processing industry.It is an advantage to have experience from the mining industry, project management and engineering.Experience with CAD, CAM and PDM as well as NX and TcE is desirable. To succeed in this position you will need good communication skills, be creative and possess personal drive.As a person you are analytical, engaged and work independently.You are fluent in English, both written and verbal.We encourage both male and female applicants to apply for this position.
