The Product Development & Engineering Center Sweden supports the SKF business with technical product expertise and by developing products for the future. Our aim is to enable new products as well as optimized, application specific variants of already existing ones, to support our customers on their journey towards reliable rotation.
We work in close collaboration with the Product Line Management for Self-Aligning Bearings, with SKF factories globally, Sales & Application Engineering, Research and Technology Development, Manufacturing Engineering as well as Quality and Purchasing. Our cooperation with other design teams across SKF is key for success and we have a strong focus on growing Engineering capabilities for the future throughout SKF. To understand the customer and application needs is central in our design process in order be able to provide application specific products with the optimum cost/benefit ratio. We are now looking for someone who can join our team for 12 months in a temporary position.
Key responsibilities:
* Drive the engineering activities in development projects targeting application specific offers, often run at high pace and in an agile approach
* Run simulations to verify new designs and analyze tolerances
* Develop, document, and implement product specifications that ensures cost efficiency, while understanding the connection to manufacturing processes and product performance
* Drive and contribute to Product Development Projects, focusing on Application Specific Offers
* Plan, drive and conduct design requests and engineering tasks
We expect you to have:
* University degree in engineering
* Experience from mechanical design, preferably from rotating equipment or dynamic mechanical systems
* Experience from customer and supplier contacts
* Good communication skills, fluent in English
Knowledge/skills in the following areas:
* 3D modeling and drawing creation (PTC Creo preferred)
* Form and position tolerancing (GPS)
* Strength analysis (FEM and analytical)
* Mechanical testing
* Quality methods (DFMEA, Risk assessment, DVP)
* SCRUM/Agile
* Technical product documentation
* Project Management
