We, at the Messaging team, own everything under the messaging domain at Truecaller. Our mission is to become the most-loved SMS app on Android, while building, transforming, and optimizing the most reliable and secure Instant Messaging (IM) experience for our users on Android as well as iOS. With over 270 million users, Truecaller currently operates one of the world's largest IM services.
As Product Director of Messaging, you will be responsible for setting the product roadmap and strategy of Truecaller’s Messaging team. You will lead a talented group of frontend and backend engineers, working closely with the Product Owner, UX Designer, and data scientists to oversee the realization of this strategy into delightful customer experiences.

Product and services
Proven experience in leading the development of a consumer-facing product on a tactical, operative, and strategic level
Deep understanding of consumer behavior in Truecaller’s key and growth markets
People and team
An inspiring leader that can motivate teams, and is comfortable in both delegating and being operational
Experience directly managing and enabling further personal development for product, design, and technical people
Proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, and senior company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship
Management and leadership
Balance the needs and priorities of other teams that are using our systems against the roadmap and goals of the team
A collaborative mindset that enables you to build strong relationships with other teams in the organization and deliver on the wider mission of the organization
Ensure that the team works in an efficient way and that the team’s plans and commitments are met without sacrificing the quality and reliability of our services



What you will work on
Own the vision and strategy for the product area, and together with the team, deliver on the business plan and roadmap
Collaborate with the CPO and CTO to efficiently create a product strategy that is in line with the technical strategy of the organization
A collaborative mindset that enables you to build strong relationships with other teams in the organization
Grow the team with the right talent, efficiently integrate and mentor new colleagues
A thoughtful leader that cares about supporting and developing people and that is prepared to both listen, explain and challenge
Create and align the Business Unit’s goals and objectives with the company goals, policies, and business objectives in a way that optimizes outcomes
Makes decisions based on data and analytics but isn't ruled by them

It would be great if you also have
M.Sc.Eng or similar, preferably with experience leading a consumer-facing mobile product
3-5 years of experience in a people leadership role
