Job Description
IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world.Expressed in terms of IKEA's three main processes, IoS
leads the processes Creating the Home Furnishings Offer and Supplying.IoS also takes part in the third main process, called Communicating & Selling, which is lead by Retail.
The Product Editor leads the product communication process for the Business Area and in the pipeline.This means creating conditions for the Customers to make their own buying decisions and to serve themselves.This contributes to efficient selling and to Customer success.
Assignment
BA 04 drives the two businesses; Kitchen and Dining.We have strong long- term directions and business strategies and we are creating new and exciting range offers.Now we need a Product Editor with a passion for communicating the range to our customers.
The Product Editor is an important member of the Product development process and has a close contact with the Product Developers in order to make a communication analysis.
The factual content comes from the Product Developer and the Product Analysis.The Product Editor shall then analyse the communication needs.These needs will then be briefed by the Product Editor to an expert supplier.The quality of the texts/pictures/illustrations that are delivered will be judged by the Product Editor.You will be responsible for managing and safe-guarding the total product communication quality: the content, the tone-of-voice, sustainability and pedagogical issues.Also, they see to that all communication is saved and connected in the right way in the product information database, in order to secure optimal use in all media.
Requirements
In order to meet these new ways of working we need people with clear editorial, communicative and pedagogical skills.
Competence and knowledge
.Should be familiar with IKEA and the IKEA idea, also as an IKEA customer
.University degree in information, marketing, languages and/or journalism
.Well trained in different analysis methods
.Experience from e.g publishing company, an information department or a magazine/paper
.Genuine interest in home furnishings and our products
.Strong recommendation is Swedish or English as mother tongue
.Some retail experience is a plus.

.Skilled in analysing different tones in messages (can easily distinct information texts from commercial texts); common sense
.Good at briefing the communication need
.Good at editing (can make 20 lines of text into 10 sharp ones)
.Pedagogical; can clearly explain why a text is not good - or why it does its job
.Skilled in analysing/judging a total message with both pictures and texts
.Methodical, structured and with administrative skills
.Is a good writer
.Likes simplicity; straightforward personality with own "drive".Must be able to go
.and get the input that is needed.

.Finds pleasure in both detailed and general communication issues
