Product Engineer
IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult

As Product Engineer you will work with the development of our product range in order to strengthen our offer (i.e. product moves, product improves, quality and safety related issues). You will be responsible for parts of our running range. You will work to improve customer benefits and bring a quality that exceeds customer expectations to this range. You will establish and maintain networks with functions across IKEA. You will interact with IKEA trading areas, categories and suppliers.

It's important that you have an understanding of what the customers wants, and that you have the capability to drive and lead. It?s also important that you like structure, but at the same time likes to challenge and further develop how we work. Our products are manufactured outside of IKEA of Sweden and sometimes by several different independent suppliers.

Is this the right challenge for you?
We are looking for you with a university degree as an Engineer and some years of relevant experience. You have good understanding of product development and project management. It is good if you have knowledge in working with test methods as well as experience of Solid works. As a person you have the ability to communicate and integrate with different people and you have also skills in administrative tasks. You always work proactively and are a problem solver and have the ability to organize your work. You enjoy working in teams and you enjoy details. IKEA of Sweden is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world. You therefore need to be fluent in English.

IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult - the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development. Expressed in terms of IKEAs three main processes, IoS leads the processes Creating the Home Furnishings Offer and Supplying. IoS also takes part in the third main process, called Communicating & Selling, which is lead by Retail.
