Hiring manager Senthil Kumar Selvaraj, head of the Q-team, describes his leadership as follows;
”As a leader, my co-workers describe me as committed and forward-thinking. This is because I think it is important that we work together as a team to achieve set goals while taking initiative and responsibility in our roles. For me, it is important that the work climate is characterized by openness and honesty, and that we take advantage of our strengths and help each other with our weaknesses. In this way, we give each other the opportunity to develop and development is something I value highly within my team”.
Your colleagues
Today the Q-team consists of five people including me, Senthil. We have a mix of experiences, cultures, and backgrounds. I would say that we are a group that takes on most challenges every day in a dynamic environment where we deliver results - both daily and over time. Some of us are parents of small children and therefore the conditions for the week can quickly change when the preschool calls and one of us has to pick up sick children. For us, it is important that the puzzle of life fits together and therefore we have good cohesion, where everyone cares about each other and supports when someone is having an intense period. Although we all have different areas of responsibility, we help each other and prioritize together.
Your role
As a product engineer at the Q-team, your main task is to act as a support function for production and product development, a kind of product expert who understands our complex products and can perform consequence analyses in case of deviations. The work takes place cross-functionally together with other support functions, as well as with the production unit. The assignments are very dynamic and constantly changing, with a global network that gives the opportunity to work closely with our colleagues in the US and Mexico, where the corresponding team is located locally.
Your duties as a product engineer will also include:
• Analysis of product deviations, both internally in production and from the end customer, field and also the engine unit (DE).
• Implement corrective measures in case of internal deviations and supplier deviations, because the products do not meet the drawing requirements.
• Carry out problem solving and improvements for deviations observed in production, as well as being responsible for improvements to the analysis tools we have developed.
• Statistical analyses, analysis of measurement data, and drawing requirements.
• Warranty analysis, as well as participation/project management in FQ projects (field quality) that come from the warranty side.
• SQL and Excel macros are the common tools used for data analysis when it comes to production data.
Your Profile
You will be a key player at Cummins Scania XPI Engineering. Our success is based on our core values and our choice to do things Scania's way, we always strive for improvements and diversity, openness, respect for the individual, team spirit, and flexibility. To succeed in this position, positivity, flexibility, and dependability are the most important qualities. We also see the ability for creative thinking, good communication, and problem solving skills as important.
We would also like you to have:
• University degree or equivalent technical training in a technical field.
• Very good knowledge of English.
• Previously worked in some support function for production and has some experience in practical problem solving.
It is also an advantage if you have a B-driving license.
