IKEA of Sweden, or IoS, is responsible for developing the IKEA range and making it available to stores and customers all over the world. IoS is based in Älmhult, the heart of IKEA and the centre of IKEA range development.

Furniture Product Engineer @ Children's IKEA
Temporary assignment 1 year, IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult

This assignment will be on a 1-year contract due to maternity leave. The work tasks will be mainly focusing on the running range.

Always having safety and quality on top of our minds to protect our small friends, we will even more increase our focus on decreasing the cost level and improving the quality in our furniture range.


Your main responsibilities will include:
Maintaining and updating product documentation for the running range.
Within the assigned area provide concrete proposals and solutions to improve our furniture range from a cost and quality viewpoint.
Leading, developing and implementing the decided improvement projects.
Establish a network within IKEA of Sweden (also for future use) and spread knowledge about Children's IKEA way of working.


Is this the challenge for you?
We are preferably looking for a trading technician that wants to build on to the strengths with experience also in the Range development. You should have experience in furniture industrialisation and production, as well as working experience of solid wood and flat line materials, production and technical solutions. You have a good understanding and competence related to the product development and project management. A big advantage is to have experience of Solid Works and knowledge of PIA.
As a person you have the ability to create, anchor and communicate common point of view for the technical agenda. You are able to take a stand in the important matters but you are also willing to challenge known patterns. You are a problem solver, communicator and decision maker.
