Product engineer to the DIK / XPI Q-team in Södertälje

The Q-team is a cross functional team including purchasing (SQA), production and product engineers and metallurgy. The team is linked to the team at the sister plant in Jd Juárez in Mexico and work in close cooperation with the improvement teams inside production. Administrative the team belongs to Scania production, but our work is managed from the R&D joint venture located in Columbus Indiana.

The group is responsible to find the root cause to deviations found inside own production and testing, as well found at our customer's production (i.e. engine production DE) and at end customer. The team drives the issues from supplier and own production to solution. Design issues are handed over to the design department in Columbus, IN, USA.

Product and process are closely linked due to the design of the products and it contributes to the challenges and complexity when identifying the true root caus(es). The team members need to develop skills in both product and process including the processes at our suppliers.

Your duties
The main objective is to protect the customer from receiving bad parts but still maintaining deliveries.

You are also responsible to identify the root cause for failing injectors and pumps. You will perform test runs, tear downs and analyses, including analysing field returns. When necessary you will take part in any campaign when we tear down and inspect parts.

You will support both the SQA engineer as well as the improvement team in production both as a driver of items as well as a doer.

Occasionally we travel to suppliers and to our other plants in Mexico and Columbus.

Your profile
As a product engineer on our team, you must be independent, practical, creative, and have strong problem solving skills. You combine theoretical skills with practical hands on jobs.

Experience from automotive production of precision components, measuring and pre production engineering.
It is beneficial to have experience from injection systems and / or engine fail search.


You must be able to express yourself freely in both speech and writing in Swedish and English. Knowledge in Spanish is beneficial.

A positive attitude and approach is necessary. You also need to feel comfortable and enjoy training others and be a good teacher.
We are looking for a Bachelors degree in engineering (met/mech) to ensure an academic level.
