Product Engineering Developer

IKEA is on a journey, developing digital capabilities for product development to meet the future need of our customers. As an important part of that journey, we take next steps in our PLM journey – connecting the value chain via tools, competence, and ways of working.
This is a new role, and it will be an important part of the implementation of our new PLM system. Or if you want, this assignment is a key role in our digital transformation, because that is what it is all about. We are looking for a candidate who is going support our product development organisation on the implementation journey, that has already started. You are going to handle all kinds of different needs and tasks that are coming up during our implementation. In other words, you may say that this assignment is a kind of “guide of the galaxy” where a lot is unknown, and you are going to take part of building it up – from scratch. Keywords for this assignment is support and enabler.
You are going to work close to our Implementation Leader, as well as to many other stakeholders in our organisation, from colleagues at the IT department to Leaders out in the engineering network who are involved in the project.
Furthermore, you are going to be responsible for:
Lead the planning, organization and prioritization of activities within R&P Engineering to create ways of working related to PLM
Development of different topics such as IKEA part standard and part classification Keeping together the planning and organization of learning activities

Qulifications
We are looking for you who have solid knowledge from working with PLM system. If you have been working with Windchill it´s a merit and if you have been part of implementation of a PLM system in the past it be considered as highly interesting. You have an engineer background, probably from working with product development yourself, or at least you are well versed in how it´s working in this kind of work environment and what kind of prerequisites that is needed. You will be an integral part of IKEAs product development organisation with a lot of colleagues and stakeholders, so you are not unfamiliar with showing your face, both on and off screen. This is a role for the one who thrives in the middle of the movement, where you find your way forward and see the unknows as a great chance to have impact. Your communication skills are the kind that help you build good and trustful relations, and of course – your skills in English are excellent, both written and verbal.
