We are looking for two Product Improvement Engineers (Technical Project Leaders) to the Business Area Kitchen & Dining
- one temporary position due to maternity leave and one permanent position
IKEA of Sweden, Älmhult

If you are motivated by making our products better through continuous improvements this might be the job for you! You need to be passionate about creating the best technical solution for the customer at the right price with the right quality, beautiful design and focus on sustainability. You are a technical project leader driving the improvements of the existing product range. Clear visual management towards the team and managers on status of your projects and to coach the team members to deliver solutions are crucial parts of your job. Furthermore, to put the customer in focus by bringing the Customer Requirements is a viewpoint you must have as a Product Improvement Engineer.

In your assignment you will:

- Be responsible to create project plans in alignment with Kitchen and Dining business plan and action plan for product improvement
- Be responsible to plan and lead continuous technical improvements projects on affordability, quality and sustainability which includes structure, time management and follow-up on projects
- Anchor product improvement projects through relevant stakeholders
- Handle resource planning for identified product improvement projects
- Identify, involve, plan and lead needed resources for the product improvement projects
- Capture and communicate learning?s in both Business areas as well as throughout IKEA
- Contribute to the Business Plan with conclusions from the running range performance analysis
- Dimension the project improvement portfolio - both from an ambition level but also understanding it from a resource level
Is this challenge for you?
In order to be successful in the role you need to:

- Have a university degree in engineering or equivalent
- Be Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Have experience when it comes to verification planning, quality strategy, quality measurements and root cause analysis. The Lean toolbox with problem solving methods such as Six sigma and Fishbone should be familiar to you.
- Know the basic IT tools you are going to use; Solid Works, Pia, PLUS, Project Management tool
- Be able to act and lead short term projects which are safety related as well as long term ones regarding technical improvements

As a person you need to have excellent communication and leadership skills. Project management is a main part of your daily work and you must be a self starter with a strong drive and an urge to work in team constellations with a well developed ability to prioritize among your assignments. You are highly analytical, are open to new ideas and want to share knowledge with others. You have the ability to shift perspective from detailed to high level and you dare to challenge others. You demonstrate integrity, honesty and reliability.
