Product Line Manager - Welding Products

Sandvik Materials Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading world manufacturer of high-value-added products in stainless steel materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials and process systems.Product areas comprise Tube, Strip, Wire and Heating Technology, Process Systems and MedTech.The Wire and Heating Technology product area currently leads the world in the manufacture of stainless steel wire plus metallic and ceramic, high technology, heat resistant materials used for, for example, welding, medical applications, electrical heating of household appliances and industrial ovens.Management plus the greater part of the R&D for this product area is currently located in Hallstahammar, Sweden.This position is located in Sandviken.The person holding this position is a member of the Management Team, reporting to the Product Unit Manager.The PLM bears responsibility for developing the strategic product plan and ensuring that it meets SMT financial and operational requirements.Additional responsibilities include: - Developing and maintaining a profitable welding business - Managing the business strategy for Welding Products and securing that the annual business plan is aligned with Sales Regional Managers, PA Wire & Heating Technology and SMT R&D - Pushing developments and change forward within the Welding Team - Monitoring and following-up business and operations through performance reviews - Promoting sales through regional sales areas - Taking ownership of the product portfolio, including the initiation of new product development - Initiating improvements in production technique and supply chain management for the product line Your profile We expect that you have a university degree in business or engineering and minimum of ten years' experience from relevant fields within the industry.You may either have solid business experience or a deep technical background from welding or manufacturing.We are looking for an experienced business-minded person, with a strong interest in understanding customer needs and identifying Sandviks capability to supply value.You are an excellent communicator in Swedish and English.Other success criteria for the position include good change-management skills and the ability to perform in a team-oriented environment.
