Product Manager

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Product Manager has the accountability to manage a range of products within the business segment. The goal for the function is to manage the existing product ranges over its life cycle in a manner that maximizes the overall return/profit to the company, to support setting the strategic direction for the segment, and provide the product marketing input to development of new products needed to drive the business.

Essential Responsibilities:

Management of a designated product range(s) over its life cycle within a product portfolio of a business area in a manner that maximizes the overall return/profit to the company, within the context of company, business area and marketing plans.
Commercial input to the product development process once the product definition is approved.
Management of all aspects of the product(s) life cycle from planning of NPI until the product is terminated.
Strategic and tactical supply management of existing products to market for multiple customers and applications.
Management of Platform Products fully recognizing the company benefit that can be obtained by facilitating the use of these for applications in other global business areas.
Management of the cross-functional interface with product development and manufacturing.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The applicant should therefore ideally have experience of Life Science products and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The applicant should be structured, driving and have a positive attitude.

The applicant should have a university education in chemistry, biochemistry or equivalent. Knowledge of the products handled by the group is preferred. Sales or marketing experience will be highly valued.

We are looking for an extrovert, driving person with excellent communication skills. The position requires an ability to absorb and handle complex information in a very structured way. The applicant should be able to handle many tasks at the same time and have an ability work under pressure. Team working ability is obviously central to success.
