Job Description
- Degree in a Technical Discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification desirable Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and communicate well across multidisciplinary team
- Ability to influence through persuasive verbal and written communication
- Experience with management of product integrations, launches, and change management
- Experience leading development, training, and communication of new product introductions
- Strong organizational, research, and time management skills Experience setting and managing expectations at the executive level
- Ability to manage and own delivery schedule in order to meet challenging deadlines
Job Responsibilities
Main accountabilities of the position:

Innovation

- Gain insights into competitive products and technology trends
- Identify emerging best practices in other industries (Exemplars)
- Assist human-centered design in the development of personas, pain points and journeys.
- Develop the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Feature list and three-year roadmap
- Validate feasibility of the MVP feature set
- Develop an early budget and workplan for the product development phase




Product Development

The Product Manager is the leader of the product development phase.

- Lockdown the MVP value proposition and feature set
- Create, manage and track the product development budget.
- Develop user stories detailing customer requirements
- Working with engineering, develop the detailed sprint and testing plans
- Oversee all aspects of project execution as the agile scrum master (aka project manager)
- Working with strategic design, develop and monitor the concept testing plan
- Working with experience design, oversee the development of a compelling user experience.




Commercialisation

During commercialization, the Product Manageris accountable for ensuring that the product is ready to be launched in the desired markets to the desired number of customers.

- Develop the post launch feature roadmap and execution plan.
- Design operational processes, service level agreements and interface requirements for product partners
- Optimize owned product solution or 3rd party technology partnerships post launch to support the scaling of new ventures that deliver out-sized growth
- Contribute to Business Development, supporting Directors and Managing Directors across all client need areas
- Contribute to the planning and scoping of innovation, development and design projects
- Design and facilitate co-creation sessions with multi-disciplinary client teams
- Communicate new product solution concepts to internal and external audiences
- Develop intellectual property; points of view, industry and topic platforms
- Contribute to the development of thought leadership across a range of emerging business, technology and design topics
- Leverage industry relationships to facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to explore new opportunities
- Execute expense and financial management rigor across project
- Develop NDA agreements for contractors and business partners
- Support creation of SOW and client agreement documentation
- Support development of business case and operating plan
- Deliver project reviews to support training and development of project team
- Coordinate hiring and staffing of innovation and product development team


Department/Project Description
The Downstream Marketing businesses are setting ambitious growth plans to double the business in 2025. Digital initiatives are the primary levers to drive and enable this journey.

To achieve this, the Connected Mobility Hub will create new ventures managed through an “Incubator Model” to support continuous rapid delivery and adopt agile principles of working. The incubation will consist of cross functional teams including (global and local business teams, Shell developers, data scientist, design consultants, insights and external contractors).



This position will report to the Digital Venture Manager for Connected Mobility.

The purpose of the Product Manager role is to support the vision and delivery of a disruptive product to market. This role will primarily be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team through an agile-based product development process - e.g., Design, Develop, Learn, Adapt.



The Product Manager must possess a broad base of skills and knowledge spanning digital technology, strategy and business planning, user experience design, engineering and agile/lean development practices. They possess an entrepreneurial drive to develop new products, while managing client needs and timeframes to broker complex relationships that evolve into real solutions. The ultimate success of a Product Manager hinges on their ability to lead their peers while influencing decision makers.
