This team is responsible for bringing to the market the POS hardware used by iZettle merchants to run their business. It goes from card readers, to printers, scanners, and other point of sale accessories.
Responsibilities
Execute on strategy & tactics: Deeply understand iZettle’s mission and strategies and translate this into roadmaps, plans and successful executions.
Operative team leader: Lead cross-functional product teams hands-on and drive product development with a team of engineers, designers and other stakeholders, both internally and externally; making sure we build great products and give the best experience for our users. You will be responsible to take a product from ideation to commercial launch, and then follow up the project throughout its lifecycle.
Hardware and manufacturing: Drive electrical, industrial, and mechanical design. Take production decisions as part of the product development lifecycle.
Hardware integrations: Drive HW integration project, to add support for certain devices in our apps.
Know your users: Understand our merchants and the internal iZettle and PayPal users; build use cases around those desires; and translate those use cases into product definitions and prioritised roadmaps.
Communication: Clearly communicate the product plans, objectives, performance measures and progress against plans to all stakeholders.
Product lifecycle: Manage product life cycle - ideation and discovery, MVP, growth, monetization, maintenance or retirement, as well as improvements during mass production.
The skills that set you apart
Extensive product management experience in developing hardware products in the customer-facing consumer electronics space.
Proven track record of shipping one or more HW products with high satisfaction ratings.
Experience with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Product Design, Sales, Marketing,Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Partnerships, and Legal.
Experience with consumer hardware development life cycles and ODM/CM working models. Experience with mobile and embedded device operating systems.
Higher education degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Plus for specific experience in owning complex and innovative hardware products, especially those that require software integration and elements of security.
Experience in agile development.
Exceptional communication (spoken/written English) and presentation skills. People listen when you speak because you communicate clearly and in a meaningful way.
