What you will be a part of
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Business and Market Development department is resonsible for the Portfolio and Innovation as well as the business development marketing and sales related to our products within Avionics Systems. We are currently investing in several new products and customer solutions within a several areas such as:
Mission and Communication Equipment, configurable computer platforms and Communication equipment
Situational Awereness solutions including Aircraft Management Systems, Applications, Head Up Displays
Control and Actuation Solutions including, High criticality flap systems, servos and control electronics
Customers include international aircraft manufacturers and their Tier 1 suppliers and partners.
The Business and Market Deveopment staff cover a range of competences and responsibilities such as:

Portfolio and Innovation

Your role
As Product Manager within the Portfolio and Innovation team your main task will be to work with and defining our product offers analysing the customer and market needs within our current and future product segments. You will work close to the Business Development Marketing and Sales people preparing technical solutions as well as perfoming technical marketing for our customers. Internally you will work close to the Avionics Operations with product planning and product strategies in order to optimize our customer offer.
You will be involved and lead tasks/teams in our Product Life Cycle Management process where we plan the product investments analysing the profitability on our products and Winning Business process where we plan and perfom our customer quotations.
You will report to Head of Portfolio and Innovation.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for a person with a wide technical understanding of avionics solutions who is interested in working close to our customers as a technical marketer in combination with technical management of our current and future customer products. As a Product Manager Avionics Solutions you will demonstrate good communicative leadership combined with business understanding and skills in order to create commitment and energy within the team.
Qualifications:
Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented or technical discipline
Experience of working with defining product solutions, preferably within avionics domain
Strong business understanding and customer focus
Understanding and ability to work in an international environment close to the customer
Skills to combine strategic thinking with operational actions
Ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization
Strong drive, perseverance and ability to generate energy
We expect you to be fluent in both written and spoken English and Swedish. A third language is an advantage.
