Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Digital Product Manager to lead our Fabric Design System. You will be leading a multidisciplinary product team dedicated to our foundational enabling system for delivering coherent, on brand experiences across our digital and in-store touchpoints for the H&M Brand. The system team behaves as a product being consumed by other products.
The Team
You will join a team of experienced UX and UI designers as well as web and app engineers dedicated for building the foundation; components, principles, and standards for the lego pieces consumed across the product organization as they are building engaging and modern customer experiences for the H&M Brand.
The role is an integral part of the Product organization collaborating tightly with both the Design and Engineering communities as well as Brand development. This role is highly collaborative, so the successful candidate should be able to thrive in a complex environment with many stakeholders. You excel in change management; dividing time between communicating and clarifying a vision, improving cross collaborative ways of working and ensuring adoption of the design system cross competencies. Your in-depth understanding of design systems and strong communication skills are your greatest assets.
Guided by insights from designers, engineers, brand and content creators as well as our company strategy the Design System team aims to decrease time to market for product development, speed up onboarding of new competencies and reduce repetitive tasks for our colleagues freeing their up time to imagine, design and build the right things before building them right.
The Role
A Product Manager at H&M is a visionary leader, guiding both the product vision and the team together with a team of experts. You will take responsibility for the Design System as a product with full accountability for the business and customer value delivered by the team. You will define and drive the strategic vision for the Design System, communicate it effectively to key stakeholders, manage the product roadmap and drive adaptation of the system across competencies.


Qualifications
Job Responsibility including but not limited to:
Ensure that design system meets the needs of our end users, designers, developers and our product teams, aligns with brand guidelines, and promotes consistency and efficiency.
Understand and contribute to the end-to-end product strategy
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a vision in line with our business strategy and requirements
Responsible for product specific KPI’s and communicate regular tracking to collaboration partners and stakeholders
Own and maintain the backlog while prioritizing the day-to-day work of the product team
Align with other product managers, design and engineering leads to drive adoption of the Design System, scope time and resources for it across the organization and surface possible blockers
Monitor and manage financial impact of decisions and priorities of the product team
Work closely with experience designers within product and brand to ensure customer driven design and adherence to brand experience.
Collaborate closely with engineers on the team as well as engineering leadership to ensure performance and adherence to engineering best practices and latest technology
Employ servant-leadership to coach and empower your team and support them to increase the speed and impact of their work

Things we look for:
We believe you have substantial experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager or equivalent within a design system or similar platform / enabling product in an e-commerce or omni-channel retailing context. You can gather, analyze, and understand business needs as well as needs of a multidisciplinary internal user group and clearly express the connections between larger business goals and small backlog items for team members. Furthermore, we believe you have:
In-depth understanding of design systems, their components, and their impact on product development and user experiences.
Ability to articulate the importance of systems design and the marriage between design and development through clear examples of its impact.
Experience working in the intersection of brand and design system
Proven change lead experience with capability to coordinate multiple teams within our organization to increase adoption of our design system.
Affinity towards customer centric design – deep understanding of design as a craft, mindset, and a process
Familiarity with front-end development and app technologies
Ability to manage tasks for multiple competencies.
Functional knowledge of lean-agile development and methodologies as well as product vision creation and product roadmap development
Capable of gathering, analyzing, and understanding user and business needs and understand impact against product backlog and impact on team
Proficiency with integrating qualitative and quantitative research, product analysis and end user insights into product requirements
