Product management centers on understanding customer needs and the competitive landscape in order to improve the Scania offering to our customers and thereby increasing our volumes and revenues.
At Industries and Applications we are knowledgeable and act as the backbone for selected trucks applications, industries and operations. With a strong business mind, securing application and market development, always with customer values in focus.
What you will do:
Your main responsibility is to secure the business development within your assigned areas (application, industry, market or special assignment), by initiating and follow up activities both within Scania factory and with markets all over the world. This is done in close cooperation with colleagues at S&M and different stakeholders at e.g. Commercial Operations, R&D and Business Units. Building a big and strong network all over Scania will be important in order to succeed! Part of your role will also be to participate in different market introductions, from coordinating, being the product expert to follow-up on deliveries.
As a Product Manager you will be responsible for a number of applications in the field of Long Haulage operation. You will develop an understanding for the technical parts of the product as well as building knowledge about the specific customer needs and trends today and in the future. This knowledge is gained by interacting, visiting and working close to our Business Units and customers worldwide, as well as participating in fairs and events. There will be a number of product and business strategies set by the Product Manager within the applications you are assigned and for which you will take ownership and actively working on their implementation.
When it comes to product development, you are in close contact with the Product Planning group in order to support and challenge R&D to deliver solutions that enable us to reach our long term application sales targets.
At Scania we are in an intense transition towards sustainable transport solutions. For that, there will come a number of market introduction projects where you will be working on a product management scope to guarantee the right content and launch strategies.
Who you are:
You should have interest in working with both Scania’s product and commercial offering. You have several years with hands on experience working with scania trucks business and a well developed network within Scania CV and the Business Units. As a person you are flexible and a fast learner. You have an ability to quickly swift between more technical and analytical tasks to strategic and commercial views. Handling the Office package with ease is a prerequisite. Since our main customers are the Business Units all over the globe, travelling will be part of the role.
