Axis initiative within Physical Access Control is a new area that will expand rapidly and become increasingly important as part of the total offering to the market. We will therefore continue to strengthen the New Business team with a Product Manager focusing on Physical Access products and accessories. 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Product Manager you will have the main responsibility for a specific category of products, you will manage the entire product life cycle - from strategic planning to tactical activities. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new products based on Axis industry experience, contact with the market and new innovations.

In this role you will work in the business development team, a part of our New Business department responsible for the physical access control offering. You will work closely with the product specialist and the New Business R&D team to secure a complete Axis product offering within physical access control. You will also cooperate with project managers to define product requirements. Furthermore you will work with the marketing department to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.

Your main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

•          Excellent understanding of the competition and market needs
•          Maintain and develop good business relations with internal and external stakeholders
•          Define product strategy and roadmap for your product category
•          Define products to meet and fulfill the strategy and roadmaps 
•          Strategic pricing
•          Inform and train the sales force at new product launches

The position requires more than 40 days of travelling.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
As a Product Manager it is important to enjoy spending time in the market to understand their needs and based on that, specify innovative solutions for the market. You must have broad experience from both business and technology, preferably from the physical access control industry.

We believe you are an open minded and socially skilled individual who is always open to colleagues and customers. You have excellent teamwork skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. We believe that you have the ability to manage and perform in a multi-cultural environment with international contacts. You have a structured way of solving and attacking tasks and issues, yet a flexible mindset, you enjoy high pace and are open to change.

Furthermore we believe you have:

•          Minimum of 5 years of experience within physical access control as a product manager or other equivalent experience
•          Experience from IP based systems and solutions
•          Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
•          Excellent understanding of business and market dynamics
•          Interest and knowledge in technology
•          Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English    

THE NEW BUSINESS TEAM
The New Business team is a unique group within Axis. The group is responsible for both evaluating new business ideas from a technical and a commercial perspective, and product development to offer customers the best products on the market. The team has market oriented business development resources as well as product development resources. The team’s focus is on ideas outside Axis current focus on Network Video. The ambition is to leverage on Axis existing expertise and capacity which will require a flexible and open co-operation with R&D and other departments.
