Can you see yourself responsible for identifying customer needs, prioritizing development activities, guiding the work within an Agile Release Train (ART), to successfully deliver high quality advanced vehicle motion functions to our customers?


Then join the Vehicle Energy and Propulsion Management Sub stream within Vehicle Motion and Energy Management as an agile Product Manager in the exciting journey to develop the future Volvo group Vehicle Motion and Propulsion systems and functions.


This position offers you the challenge to be accountable for decisions about technical delivery content, and prioritize the technical scope for the Vehicle Motion and Propulsion ART.


About the role


The Vehicle Motion and Propulsion Agile release train has been up and running for a short while delivering solutions and SW within the areas of Gear Shifting, Gear Selection, Fuel Economy Engine Start & Stop (FEESS), Engine Stop
Engine Start, Idle Adjust, Gearbox Protection and Engine Protection.
We are also focusing on the motion related function functions for our electric and fully automated vehicles


In this position, you will be the voice of the customer within the ART, and work with the brands and cross functional stakeholders to understand and communicate their needs. Other important aspects of the role are to represent the ART in various fora’s, prioritize the deliveries from the ART and contribute to improving the ways of working.
You will also be a key person driving the development of our to technical roadmap

As Product Manager you are owner of the ‘what’ and the ‘why’.
One of many interesting aspects of this role is that you are involved in all aspects of the development lifecycle, from advanced engineering and into the maintenance phase.
With support from the technology road map you have created for the area, you will have content authority for the program backlog of the ART.


The PM will report to the VEPM Global Technology Manager and be part of the management team.

To succeed in your new role, we think you have:
MSc Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics or similar
>5 years of experience from product development of embedded systems in the field of vehicle motion and dynamics or similar
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Project management or leadership experience is a merit
Experience from agile product development using the SAFe framework is a merit
