Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
The world is changing. How about you?
Would you want to be part of our exciting journey in making people´s lives less complicated and play a key role in enabling the digital transformation of the entire car - then come join our team!
This is what your new colleagues do
We imagine that our friends, families, and children are transported in a personal, sustainable, and safe way. What we build is a self-driving, fully electric, connected, and super safe Volvo Car. But the current platform makes it hard for us to implement the features that we need to succeed. The overall technical threshold is that the +140 electric components in the car make up a complex system, not allowing us to innovate at the pace we want. Therefore, we build a new platform. The brain in this platform is the high capacity Core Computer. This Core Computer together with a new centralized signal system aims to enable optimized software architecture. This will give Volvo Cars a high pace deployment of future features enabling an autonomous, electrical, and connected car.
What you will do
As a product owner within Core System Platform you will work with defining the features and solutions building up our platform. You will specify and drive features enabling our solutions to be compliant with the highest safety grades in the car industry. You will work together with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage priorities for teams and architects, acting as their primary stakeholder. You will also maintain a roadmap to share your vision for your domain to align deliveries with car project needs. The domain you will work within is SDK and tools to create a virtualization of the High-Performance node for our internal customers - software developers creating services and features for future Volvo cars.
Who are you?
We want to work with you who have a keen interest in modern computing technologies and want to work in an evolving industry. You like solving problems together with others. You are a customer-oriented person who enjoys being part of a team where you take own initiatives and take pride in your own and the team’s deliveries.
You and your skills
We think you have a broad background within requirements, architecture and processes for building software. You have probably worked with product definition before, as a Product Owner, Product Manager or Architect.
Delivering requirements, internal as well as towards suppliers, working with roadmaps and creating a visual product evolution will be part of your daily work. Experience with CI/CD, simulators, development tools, protocol stacks, AutoSAR, software security and embedded systems will be valuable in this position. Since you are Product Owner for a SDK framework including development tools, previous experience in this area is very valuable. You are also expected to understand and communicate the importance of well-defined interfaces, have a customer-oriented focus and provide clear documentation.
To be successful in this job we believe that you are good at explaining complex solutions to others in an easy way. Great written and verbal communications skills are needed, both in Swedish and English.
