Volvo Cars recently announced that the next generation infotainment system will be based on Android Automotive, with close collaboration with Google. We are now looking for a Product Owner (PO) to strengthen our organization.
In our Agile Release Train (ART), we are approx. 20 agile teams divided in areas of; Android Platform, Connectivity, User interaction, Security, Android Automotive app development, and other car functions etc.
What do we do
We are now looking for a product owner that will be working with developing and enhancing critical areas, being the foundation of our products.
Complete responsibility for Housekeeping MCU, its updatability, hardware monitoring and power moding related functions. Making sure all memories can be updated with all supported tools through full product lifecycle. Preparing for efficient manufacturing handovers between our suppliers, our factories, and our workshops. Verifying quality of hardware and assembly is top notch – through support and development of hardware and software diagnostics. Maintaining execution environment for actual component installing OTA (Over-the-air) packages for the whole car, balancing performance, security, robustness, and time to market in fast paced development – those areas are the first to be needed when developing new products.Analyzing and prioritizing issues, getting failure rates to acceptable levels.
You will work with Stakeholders across organization, ones responsible for Manufacturing, Workshops and OTA functions. You will be based in our office in Lindholmen/Gothenburg. Your three teams are located in Krakow/Poland and are composed of C/C++ developers with background in Embedded SW coming from various fields and Developers/Testers skilled in Python. Frequent travel will be needed to interact with the developers in Krakow.
You will work in a creative environment, within an ART that is constantly implementing new functionality, where we focus on both developing the product but also the individuals. We are organized according to SAFe and want to build empowered self-organizing teams that act proactively, take responsibility, and strive to build a great product for the end customer.
You and your skills
You are a proven leader with previous experience as a Product Owner or similar roles. You also possess an academic degree (B.Sc. or higher) within a relevant area.
Good knowledge of the English language (both written and verbal) is essential in an international environment.
You need to have a valid driver’s license B.
What You’ll Do.
Own, build, prioritize, decide, and refine the roadmap and product backlog.
Create & maintain the short and long-term vision together with the business flow of the product
Work with Product Managers to define and maintain the ART roadmaps.
Validate backlog items and making sure they meet the acceptance criteria, definition of done (DoD), and has the appropriate tests.
Continuously develop own skills and help the team and other Product Owners to develop theirs.
