We are now recruiting a Product Owner for an area consisting of three CAE, Simulation and methods teams within electrical & electronics and mechanics.
About us
The Agile Release Train (department) Electrical Infrastructure offers the possibility to work with a mixture of electrical distribution system (EDS), electrical system design, and electrical attribute areas, for all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars. We also offer the opportunity to learn the agile way of working, adapting the full SAFe configuration into HW products and system designs. Mechanical and electromagnetic compatibility simulations are also used both during virtual design and verification, as well as digital tool design/development and digital method development.
What you’ll do
As a Product Owner of CAE, methods & simulation You will manage and prioritize incoming work for the three different development teams. You will have the mandate regarding whether the product is ready for delivery or not. As a product owner your goal is to minimize non-value-added work, and you are responsible for the technical solution and quality of the products the teams are delivering. This requires close collaboration between designers and developers within the department, as well as across Volvo Cars’ R&D organization.The team manager and the scrum master of the development teams and you will form a trio to lead the teams operationally and you will also be a member of the extended Product Management team in the department.
Areas of responsibilities and what will be expected:
• Business acumen, a well-developed project leader capability
• Set vision and roadmap for the product area and protect the long-term technical integrity of the features/components as well as defining future strategies.
• Review and reprioritize the teams’ backlog as part of the preparatory work for iteration including coordination of content dependencies with other product owners, stakeholders, managers, other departments, scrum masters, teams, and the product managers.
• Ability & interest of keeping yourself updated in the tech area and your own network
• Handle & develop a growing organisation
• Extensive network in the business
• Plan a lead virtual verification of technical solutions in both mechanical and electromagnetic environments
• To lead & prioritize evaluations of new tools (proof of concept)
• Experience from the technological area; IT in general, tools like capital, saber, MATLAB/Simulink, CST, IPS, Abaqus, COMSOL and other digital tools for simulations
• Experience in method development
• Experience of tool development (digital)
You and your skills
You have a university degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience and your English is fluent (written and spoken). We also think you have experience and understanding in development methodology principles, e.g. SAFe, Scrum, Lean, Kanban
