Scania is aiming to be the leader in the shift towards a sustainable transport system with battery electric vehicles as the main tool to enable decarbonised transport solutions with better transport economy for our customers. The battery system is a central part for the development of competitive products that can fulfil customer demands on range, charging time, lifetime, reliability etc. including being sustainable from an environmental, climate and social perspective.
The team UBCE is responsible for performance, properties, safety, requirement balancing and regulations of the battery system all the way to the customer. As a product owner you have an overall responsibility of the battery properties and, in the end, the customer experience of the battery in the vehicle. Key responsibilities:
• Technical requirements management including hardware demand and performance specification
• Lead requirement balancing and trade-offs within projects
• Participation in project activities with designing groups and test responsible engineers and follow that the development progress will lead us against the desired final product with the right balancing of properties
• Acting cross-functionally and being an interface towards vehicle projects, property owners, production, sales & marketing and aftermarket in battery-related technical questions
• Responsible for release of complete battery system in cooperation with system owner
• Identification of problems in need for investigation and participation in or leading of task forces giving answers to important questions
• Being an active part of strategic roadmap discussions for future battery systems including competitor benchmark
• Work in close cooperation with our performance group leader, safety manager, regulations engineer, battery expert engineer, object leader and verification responsible
Your profile:
• A passionate and purpose-driven engineer with an interest in new technology and knowledge within battery technology
• Good leadership and communication skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
• Organized, structural and result-driven
• Proactive and a natural talent to make things happen
• Appreciate to work together with a lot of people from our big U electrification family
• Experience from jobs like product owner and similar are a merit
