Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey when it comes to electrification, aiming for 50% of global sales to be pure electrified by 2025 and with the first pure electrified cars being introduced during 2020. To ensure we can achieve and sustain a strong position in the market as an electrified OEM, it is critical to have a solid set up for how to handle aftermarket challenges for both Volvo Cars and Polestar. Volvo Cars Service Business have implemented Battery Centers in each region to secure battery pack replacement supply for the aftermarket as well as fulfilling Volvo Cars strategy for electric vehicle batteries post 1st life. Our ART Battery Life Cycle Service purpose is to ensure hassle free usage for consumers by creating maximum value throughout the Battery lifecycle. 
Battery Lifecycle Services manage analysis, repair/remanufacture and storage as well as build BEV and PHEV battery packs for re-use in vehicles. Our extended our activities include Repurposing (BESS) applications, battery take back of severely damaged batteries and logistic solutions.
About the position 
As Product Owner (PO) Battery Recycling you are responsible to lead and develop a team of Developers and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)  towards supporting Volvo Cars sustainability and circularity goals.
The recycling team have responsibility across the company including affiliates for the handling of batteries within the markets, retailers, production facilities and external sites such as dismantlers, scrap yards etc.
Together with your team you will work in close collaboration with other stakeholders across the company, affiliate brands and external partners to provide best in class battery collection and recycling solutions.
You are operationally responsible globally for focusing the recycling strategy and direction for EMEA, China and USA as well as local solutions for other markets, enabling closed loop of recycled materials and content into new battery production.
What you will do   
•    Participate in our exciting electrification transformation journey in the areas of battery, handling, enabling take-back and control  of batteries which are seen as valuable assets for Volvo Cars.
•    Maximize the value-added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the program backlog from a technical, time-to-market and business perspective. 
•    Working in close collaboration with other functions and stakeholders both within the ART and counterparts to achieve our circularity and sustainability goals. 
•    Responsible for the backlog, Vision and Roadmap to enable the team to focus not only on the upcoming Epics and features but also look towards the future horizon to identify opportunities, challenges and efficiencies.
• Ensure that Volvo Cars fulfill all applicable regulatory requirements in all markets and work with legal experts towards full compliance.
• Work closely with our Technical Support teams to communicate battery handling and take-back solutions that will ensure safe analysis, diagnosis and handling of high voltage batteries
• Actively participate in circularity and sustainability questions and initiatives
• Benchmarking and creating a knowledge library to support the sourcing of best-in-class recycling partners.
You will define our Circular Battery Strategy, in close collaboration with our Global Sustainability Team. To do so, you will set our needs and requirements throughout the battery lifecycle – from launch to end of life – enabling battery control and take back, repurposing and recycling. 
You and your skills 
You have a university degree preferably at master level or equivalent, leadership experience and a deep knowledge in electrical vehicle battery or battery recycling technology. 
You are a highly skilled Engineer or have a similar commercial background preferable with good technical knowledge of Service Business processes.  
As we work with improvements, you must have experience of improvement and efficiency work. 
Working agile and knowledge in agile Framework is part of our DNA and therefore an important attribute.
You are a servant leader and excited about electrification and HV Batteries.  
You commit to deliver the Team´s deliverables with high precision and high quality. You can lead and steer according to the business' values and goals, easily interact both within and outside your team and have no problem communicating either orally or written in English. 
We highly value personal drive, ability to cooperate and a business like expertise with strategic mindset and customer in focus.
