Connectivity at Scania is one of the key components in Scania’s “driving the shift” strategy. At the department Connected Systems (EC), 100+ R&D wizards work with enabling solutions all the way from the vehicle mounted telematics unit, via Telecom networks to the Scania service platform in the cloud.
Connectivity in general is all about Data. Data in large volumes in a flexible and usable way is a key success factor for organisations that want to survive the digital shift. Scania today have over 500 000 (and counting) vehicles and other products connected online. We have started the development of the next generation telematics unit and need to extend the team with an engaged system owner.
What you will do
You will be working within the group that is responsible for the connectivity ECU’s in Scania’s electrical system. Together you create the roadmap for the ECU’s and drives the implementation and maintenance throughout the product lifecycle. The group is in the middle of a major shift where we are changing focus from our present platform toward the development of next generation telematics. As a Product Owner you will be heavily involved in the ongoing development project for the new telematics unit. You will be Product Owner for two teams, one that develops the platform for the telematics unit and one QA team that perform the release testing and testing in vehicle. You will be responsible for the product backlog and maintain the short term roadmap for the teams. As a PO you will collaborate closely with Product Owners within Connected Systems as well as other teams within R&D. You will be the teams main stakeholder and coordinate the teams during our Safe PI planning.
Who you are
You are an engineer who likes to be in the centre of development and like networking and collaboration. You have a genuine interest in technology, are structured and can handle both urgent topics and long term planning. You have good interpersonal skills and know how keep your stakeholders informed and engaged.
As a Product Owner we believe you have experience within the areas below.
• Agile development

The Product Owner is a highly technical role and to be efficient as PO experience within one or several of the technical areas listed below is favoured.
• Supporting production and back office support for field quality issues
• Technical project management
• 3GPP radio (2G-5G)
• SIM management
• GNSS and high precision positioning (RTK)
• V2X (IEEE and 3GPP)
• Linux and QNX
• Adaptive Autosar
• Security and hardening
• Safety
You most likely have a Master’s degree in electrical engineering and/or telecommunications. Knowledge in the areas of IoT / connectivity and/or the electrical system of (heavy) vehicles is a great advantage for this role.
