What we offer
Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity, Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars. The department Connectivity Platform is responsible for delivering Global Connectivity as a service – E2E including SW and Mobile Network Services. The platform we provide is the prerequisite for all connected applications and services within the vehicle.
This position will be placed at our new office at Lindholmen.
What you’ll do
As Product Owner Connectivity, your main objective and responsibility is to own, build, prioritize, decide and refine stories in your backlog to maximize value-added work from a business perspective to streamline execution. You will drive the supplier development and maintaining technical integrity of the team. You participate in discussions with your stakeholders and coordinate tasks with other product owners.
The product purpose is to enable global connectivity via WIFI/BT tethering or the car modem and enablers for e.g. Workshop WIFI, wireless CarPlay and data collection for autonomous drive for all cars delivered by Volvo Cars and Polestar. Your focus is to secure and own the end to end responsibility making sure our customers get the best possible system with regards to functionality and quality.
The development team expects you to drive the work with stakeholders to understand the product purpose, business value and development needs, contribute to the creation of user stories, prioritize them in the team backlog and not least secure that the acceptance criteria are met.
The Agile Release Train and Product Manager expects you to participate as a member in the extended Product Management team and review and contribute to the program-level vision and roadmap.
Do you fit the profile?
You are a person that have adopted a Lean Agile mind-set, experience of and applied a servant leadership, have good communication skills and can collaborate well with Volvo Cars internal stakeholders. We expect you to have a proven record of accomplishment when working with defining what makes a great user experience, making high level roadmaps and communicating that to the development team. If you have experience from working with and delivering to internal or external customers, it is a great advantage.
You carry a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. We are looking for you who have several years of work experience with electronics, embedded systems and preferrable Connectivity product development within the wireless and automotive industry and are skilled within one or several wireless technologies. In addition, you have in a leading role interacted with suppliers and therefore you know how to how to drive progress and collaborate with the supplier. You are data-driven in your approach to decision making and measuring your successes.
