The Electric Drive Software department at Volvo Cars is proud of being one of the most successful players within SW development for Electric Vehicles. We are responsible for delivering system solution and SW functionality for the Inverters in our electrified vehicles. The Inverter Controls team is an agile team consisting of enthusiastic people with a mix of gender, ages and nationalities. High focus on collaboration and communication within the group and it is good cohesion between the group members. New members always get warm welcome, support and acceptance.

About you
You should be passionate about development of complex mechatronic systems within vehicle electrification, electronics, and embedded systems. You are devoted to driving engineering challenges all the way from business case and concept stage to mass production.
You have senior background within Power Electronics field and is a natural initiator that commits to deliver the Team´s deliverables with high precision on quality. You are a team player that contributes and bring out the best from your fellow team members and work actively to increase your work network.

What you will do
As a Product Owner (PO) you will be working closely together with the Team, Team Manager, Scrum Master, PM* of the ART** and stakeholder in other ARTs to maximize the value for our customers. You own the tech in backlog, Vision and Roadmap for the team and keep the future horizon to identify upcoming Enabler work and collaborate together with System and Solution Architect to assist with execution of enabling future Unique Selling Point (USP) functions connected to the Electric Drive Technical Road map. You should maximize the value-added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the program backlog from a technical, time-to-market and business perspective.

You will be responsible for the Electric Drive Inverter Controls area that consist of Operation Mode team and Protection & Limitation team. They develop in-house application functions from initial concept, design, implementation, test and make verification to assure that the customer gets as much value as possible from the electric drive systems. The team works mainly with the application software with a focus on the purely logical parts of the software as mode handling, interface components, auxiliary components (park lock, immobilizer) and torque limitations that protects components such as battery and electric motor. The team also secure and develop manual and automated tests based on requirements, as well as non-functional tests, which are performed on MIL, SIL, HIL, dyno-rig and vehicle at different ambient conditions as well as hot and cold climate expeditions.

You and your skills
* Master of Science or Bachelor of Science within Electrical, Power Electronics, Controls Theory, Signals & Systems or Mechatronics
* Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant job experience from    Embedded SW, integration of micro controllers and model bases SW development 
* Debugging/testing embedded software systems and automation
* Leading others in an advanced technological area and comfortable to be in forefront for such an area and take full responsibility for it.

* SCRUM/agile development
* Worked within an area connected to thermal losses and modulation strategies or closely collaborated with one.
* Advanced level in the English language and be comfortable in explaining/teaching or understanding complexed solutions.
* Driver´s license
