Volvo Cars is growing and we are facing an interesting future in the electrification of vehicles. If you want to utilize state of the art methods to contribute to the software development of the next generation electrified luxury cars, the role as our new Product Owner within Electric Porpulsion is the role for you to prosper in!

We are two teams of talented and curious engineers with a wide spectrum of skills operating within the electrified vehicle field. We are responsible for developing models and framework for Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) simulators able to test all high voltage components included in the electrical drivetrain (Electric machines and Inverters, Battery Systems, Charging Systems and Power Supply). The HIL environment is a real-time testing environment that enables fast development and high quality though efficient testing. The HIL testing is a cornerstone in the Software development and a key enabler to achieve Continuous Integration (CI).
The teams belong to an enabling ART (Software Factory) within the Product Stream Electric Propulsion.
Software factory is the ART responsible for automating the SW release flow within Electric Propulsion.

You will work with cutting edge technologies related to simulators, model development and implementation, fault tracing and Continuous Integration (CI).
The integration of HIL test into the CI chain demands higher development speed and faster deployment speed as well as better model quality.

What you will do
You own the technical backlog, Vision and Roadmap for the team and keep the future horizon to identify upcoming work and strive for high collaboration with Electric Propulsion.
You will have a close collaboration with the Product Manager and together maximize the value-added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the program backlog to be able to support all projects.
You understand our customers’ needs to specify our next generation HIL test environment and act as a technical leader for the teams.
Near future focus will be the integration of HIL testing into the CI chain to support higher software quality and faster deployment speed as well as better model quality

You and your skills
You are passionate about your work and enjoy working in a cross-functional environment. You navigate in a large company at all levels with ease and are used to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders. You strive to support and coach to enhance our test environment. 

* B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, SW Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on vehicle and driveline.
* Several years’ experience with HIL systems and real-time simulation
* Software testing and validation
* You are fluent in English, written and spoken


Experience from some of the below would be considered meritorious:
* Experience from Volvo Cars processes and ways of working
* Software development process including Continuous Integration, especially at Volvo Cars Company
* Electric Motors, Power Electronics and Traction Battery technology
