Volvo Cars recently announced that the next generation infotainment system will be based on Android Automotive, with close collaboration with Google. We are now looking for a Product Owner (PO) to strengthen our organization.
In our Agile Release Train (ART), we are approx. 20 agile teams divided in areas of; Android Platform, Connectivity, User interaction, Security, Android Automotive app development, and other car functions etc.
We are now looking for a product owner that will be working with developing and enhancing the OTA (over-the-air) functionality. The function gives the user a possibility to update the software in the car, throughout its lifetime, and by that provide new or updated functions compared to when the car was bought.
The OTA team develops the HMI for customer interaction (i.e. the download center) together with the discovery and download of new SW packages from the backend to the car. To drive OTA functionality will require skill and drive in collaboration and skills to align different needs and wishes. Stakeholders are found all over Volvo Cars, including UX, other product areas, business ownership and Volvo leadership.
The team that is developing the functionality consists of highly efficient SW developers, UX designers and fault tracers.
You will work in a creative environment, within an ART that is constantly implementing new functionality, where we focus on both developing the product but also the individuals. We are organized according to SAFe and want to build empowered self-organizing teams that act proactively, take responsibility, and strive to build a great product for the end customer.
You and your skills.
You are a proven leader with previous experience as a Product Owner or similar roles. You also possess an academic degree (B.Sc. or higher) within a relevant area.
Good knowledge of the English language (both written and verbal) is essential in an international environment.
You need to have a valid driver’s license B.
What You’ll Do.
Own, build, prioritize, decide, and refine the roadmap and product backlog.
Create & maintain the short- and long-term vision together with the business flow of the product
Work with Product Managers to define and maintain the ART roadmaps.
Collaborate in Volvo/Polestar to align roadmaps
Validate backlog items and making sure they meet the acceptance criteria, definition of done (DoD), and has the appropriate tests.
Continuously develop own skills and help the team and other Product Owners to develop theirs.
