What’s in it for you?
The Decelaration & Steering ART (Agile Release Train), is a part of Vehicle Platform. The Steering teams are responsible for the vehicle steering functions and we develop steering functions for conventional and AD controlled vehicles. We have both in-house and supplier developed SW solutions. We research future systems for our portfolio such as Steer by Wire and Rear Wheel Steering. We work with platform solutions where we strive to lead and shape the development on future shared platforms between Volvo, Polestar, Geely and Lotus.
Now we are in the search for a dedicated colleague within the ART who will work as PO within the team Aurora. Aurora is an inhouse SW development team that consists of highly skilled engineers inspiring and developing high quality Steering SW and functions using Model-Based and C/C++ programming language. Team Aurora is also taking an active part in our Continuous Integration work by assuring core integration and develop CI solutions. What you will do
As a Product Owner (PO) you own and prioritize the teams backlog. You act as a servant leader and are part of a team that share the work and develop their skills together to become stronger as individuals and as a team. The team is cross-functional and you will be working in an Agile WoW contributing to the priorities on team’s backlog. You support the reason for going Agile and want to improve our way of working. You are interested in widening your competence as well as deepen your skills to best contribute to the team’s deliveries. You enjoy working in an Agile environment, where good communication and the will to support each other is the base for the team development..
You will have a close collaboration with the Scrum Master, Team Managers and other people with interface to the team.
You will also
• Maintain the team backlog - With input from System Architect, Product Manager, the team and other stakeholders, the PO has the primary responsibility for the content and priorities of the team backlog.
• Accepting stories - The PO is the only team member who can accept stories as done.
• Program Increment (PI) planning - the PO is heavily involved in program backlog refinement and preparation for PI planning and plays a significant role in the planning event itself.
• During PI, the PO is involved with story definition, providing the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing. The PO also drafts the team’s specific objectives for the upcoming PI.
• Iteration planning - The PO reviews and reprioritizes the backlog as part of the preparation work for Iteration Planning, including coordination of dependencies with other POs
• Understand enabler work - As PO you are supposed to understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and to collaborate with System and Solution Architect to assist with decision-making for enabling technologies.
• Take a life cycle responsibility for the product area in terms of functionality, quality, maintainability etc
Do you fit the profile?
You should have documented experience from leadership positions as well as the ability to set direction of future vision. You should have a strong degree of business acumen in combination with the technical understanding of your area
We expect you to be structured and comfortable with defining work plans and coordinating it with others including self-motivated and with a proven ability to take initiatives, plan and execute.
You are a role model for leaders and employees as a servant leader but also a leader of technical development and dedicated in building a strong Volvo cars culture of which continuous learning and knowledge sharing is keystones. You are also a good communicator with capability of developing and maintaining networks
We believe you have a MSc or BSc education relevant to the area including experience from product development and project management within the automotive industry. You are fluent in English, spoken and written.
Knowledge and experience from the steering area is considered a merit.
