Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What we offer
Are you passionate about people, technology and cars and want to reach your personal goals together with other engaged people? We are looking for a Product Owner for our Continuous Integration infrastructure product, a core enabler for the vehicle software toolchain making the car better every day. You will be a key person in a global organization with a clear vision to provide competitive advantage.
You will as part of the Vehicle Software & Installation product area be responsible for enabling configuration & development of a vehicle and its software, by offering continuous updates of in-car software.
It is not a coincidence that we say Volvo For Life. We make sure we have a warm and inclusive team culture mixed with personal development and many of us stay in the company for a long time either taking on a larger responsibility in a product or expanding into the ART or elsewhere in the company.
What you’ll do
As Product Owner, you’ll be deciding upon priorities in the backlog from a technical and business perspective and continuously keep open dialogues with stakeholders. You will take responsibility for creating, refining and following up on features and coordinating the dependencies with other teams.
We are looking for someone with a deep technical interest, strategic mindset and an ability to inspire and motivate the team in working towards a common goal. We are looking for you who feel passionate about leading, coaching and empowering people to secure a better user experience every day.
A normal week will include both collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers, product backlog prioritisation and refinement with the team and alignment with your peers and the product manager of the ART.
Do you fit the profile?
You have experience in Continuous Integration and you come with an ambition and drive to help Volvo Cars secure a seamless CI toolchain to make our cars better every day.
You are an experienced product owner with a product owner certificate. You are a true believer in the agile principles and have experience from scaling frameworks like SAFe or similar. You get energy from people and you describe yourself as a servant leader who leads by example and gets your hands dirty with the things the team is busy with.
You come in with a good domain knowledge of the automotive industry. You enjoy the complexity of software development and you have a passion for how the problems of our stakeholders can be translated into product backlog, code and releases that fit with the greater good.
You have a passion for technology and a drive for understanding, communicating and building trust with stakeholders in our R&D departments and other engineering communities, internally and externally. You are used to facilitating collaboration between teams and management with agile development methodologies, motivated by working collaboratively and continuously improving by giving and receiving feedback in teams.
