What would you do as our Product Owner Zephyr
At ASSA ABLOY, our Group Technology Team has been driving an internal Open Source community with focus on embedded development for several years now. We have recently added Zephyr stream, which is based on the Zephyr Project, open source project and are now looking for a Product Owner Zephyr to lead this stream.
As Product Owner Zephyr you will be working in close coordination with the Product Manager for the Open Source community. You will act as the link between the Product Manager and the Zephyr development teams; breaking down high-level information and requirements in the form of e.g. epics, to more detailed formats such as user stories and non-functional requirements on a hardware/firmware component level. You will also be responsible for prioritization of the backlog stories based on input from the Product Manager and business stakeholders.
The way of working is highly collaborative and drives different knowledge sharing forums. The goal is to have common governance rules, a minimal agreed architecture and basic tools/development environment which all ASSA ABLOY teams can use when developing and contributing back to the Internal Open Source project based on Zephyr. As product owner, you will be responsible for driving the discussions, negotiating proposals and anchoring decisions with the development teams.
You will report to the R&D Manager, Group Technology Team and work side by side with the Product Manager for our internal Open Source community with focus on embedded development. The job is located in Årstadal, Stockholm.
The skills and experience you need
We believe you are often referred as an “informal” leader and you enjoy working in global teams and matrix organizations. You are collaborative and have an entrepreneurial approach, being driven and enthusiastic about embedded technology. Ideally you can explain technology in an easy way to senior management while being able to focus on details when talking to our experts in the field.
We are looking for someone who also has:
· Approx. 5 years of experience of embedded firmware development. Preferably with an emphasis on low-power battery-driven products
· Interest to develop your skills in managing embedded products from both a technical and business perspective
· Preferably knowledge of the Zephyr Project
· A demonstrated ability to set goals as well as coach teams to reach goals
