The Parts and Service organisation is responsible for the aftermarket business within Scania. Our mission is to develop the parts and service business with a long-term global perspective to secure the objectives for sales, volumes, and profitability.
Your tasks
As a product planning manager within the parts and service area your main responsibility is to secure that all development projects are optimizing our potential and profitability of the parts and service business.
The product planning manager is responsible for the complete parts and service portfolio, spanning over all applications and all product areas. The core mission is to secure that the most important requirements are transferred to the projects, ensuring that all product introductions have considered the parts and service business.
The underlying key success factors are to work in close collaboration with the developing teams together the product managers at the parts and service organisation, but also close collaboration within our Sales and Marketing product management functions for alignment.
The product planning area is under constant development. An important part of the role is to co-lead this development to further improve Scania’s ability of develop products that secure our revenue targets, and in turn our EBIT target.
In this way, you support the medium term of our mission; to influence and effect the direction of R&D to ensure that customer satisfaction, Scania’s business model and long term product strategies are fulfilled.
You will be working in a talented cross-functional team together with other product planning managers and product managers. We appreciate teamwork and we support each other with our challenges. This will be achieved by focusing on:
• Initiate, analyse and develop market demands based product requests.
• Understand the technology developments, market trends, application strategies and use them to make balanced prioritization of what we develop.
• Represent the Parts and Service organisation in relevant R&D forums, push for our top priority demands, support with market input to improve demands and ensure a priority that is optimal for Scania.
• Represent the Parts and Service organisation in all development projects, make sure the projects are clear on what the detailed demand is, what our after sales strategy is, how this relates to the price strategy and expected volumes.
• Be an active and driving force in product planning topics, forums and projects.
• Be an active and driving force in the continuous improvement work within project development processes.
• Flag deviations and make sure corrective actions are initiated when the development projects are deviating from our parts and service strategy or missing our requirements.
The parts and service business has a significant impact on the total Scania profitability. Your profile
• a university degree in engineering, business and administration or equivalent.
• at least three years’ work experience as a product planning manager, development engineer, product manager or similar.
• an interest and knowledge in technology.
• customer first approach.
• team player.
• analytical with an out of the box mindset.
• fluent English in speaking and writing is a requirement. Swedish language is a merit.
