Product Requirement Specialist

Arbetsbeskrivning

Job Description
We believe that all people have the right to safe and healthy products that are free from harmful chemicals. It´s about securing compliance with global regulation and standards, as well as safe products, from a chemical perspective.
Do you want to work with the whole world as your arena, but at the same time having your safe spot within a Requirement team here with us at IKEA of Sweden? Right now, we are looking for a Product Requirement Specialist (PRS) for the area “Indoor air” and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), from materials and products. Could this be something for you?

The IKEA product range is designed to be functional, neat looking, affordable, of good quality and sustainable. This is what we call democratic design. But if it’s not living up to safety and other regulatory standards, we wouldn’t be able to offer it to our customers. This is where you come in!
Together with colleagues and stakeholders, you will set the pre-conditions to secure safe products that comply with market requirements and that fulfil or even exceed customer expectations in all our markets.
More specifically you will:
Support the organisation with competence development activities and implementation of product requirements
Secure that the product requirements are documented and communicated in a clear and simple way
Monitor regulatory movements, and also scientific data related to Volatile Organic Compounds

By building a network of stakeholders in external alliances and standardisation organisations, you will influence relevant new and existing legislation, regulations, and standards. Internally you´ll work in close collaboration with different teams in product development and product engineering.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have knowledge in the main relevant chemical regulations of course, and chemical risks related to various materials, especially wood-based materials, and foam.
If you’re also confident in front of a larger audience, even better! In this role you will lead trainings and information distribution of product requirements for Volatile Organic Compounds to the entire IKEA product development organisation, which is a network of 100+ colleagues.
All of them are waiting for you to translate complex regulations into simple common language, so they can develop products that comply.
You know what you’re talking about when it comes to the ways in which legislation and standards for textile are being developed and maintained, and how they are applied in product development. It´s about having a lot of energy and experience in providing support to an organisation regarding competence development activities and implementation of product requirements. Your English skills are very good, both in verbal and in written communication.
Are you the one who want to secure the future together with us, literally?
Company Description
The product range is our identity and Range & Product Engineering is one of the most important enablers in product development at IKEA to secure our vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people!
