The Requirement Engineering teams assess and document global product requirements enabling a, to regulations, compliant product range. We develop, maintain and share competence in regulations applicable to the IKEA range of products. These are challenging tasks, involving a number of different stakeholders and a network of both internal and external contacts, but extremely rewarding for the customer experience at the same time.

Security, safety, eco-design and data privacy, are some of the areas covered by regulations and directives that evolve quickly in the area of connected devices and the requirements put on our products from these are subject to a lot a investigations, analyses and clarifications.

Requirement Engineering is looking for a Product Requirement Specialist (PRS) addressing regulations related to the Security of Connected Devices and other applicable regulations for this type of products. As a PRS you are responsible to identify and document correct, clear and receiver-oriented product requirements. In other words - creating pre-requisites for a safe and compliant range. You will influence relevant new and existing legislations, regulations and standards, while you develop a network of stakeholders in external alliances and standardisation organisations. You work together with different product development and product engineering teams at IKEA of Sweden. Furthermore you work with requirements related to both new and complex product types as well as with improvements to the current range.
Work tasks specific to this position:
Today both global and local standards, as well as laws addressing the Security of Connected Devices, are being worked on in different standardisation organisations around the globe. To ensure that IKEA products, e.g. our Home Smart range, are possible to develop in compliance with these standards, as well as other applicable regulations and directives, you will be responsible to ensure that these are known and easily understood by the IKEA product development teams.
Qualifications
You have an amazing ability to analyse, assess and interpret complex subjects as well as identify needed actions, while translating these complex issues into simple language. With previous experience from the Home smart domain you are equipped to be a good speaking partner and an authority when it comes to interpretation of the derived product requirements from these standards and regulations. You know how to communicate it, in a way that makes the requirements available by educating the development organization on news and updates. With an open mind, you have an interest in improving ways of working by applying lessons learnt from your daily work and to take a lead in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders.
You have:
Solid experience in how standards are being developed and maintained in different standardisation organisations and by authorities
A good understanding of the security aspects of connected devices
Experience with standardisation and software development/architecture
You have the capability and strong interest to build and to maintain this network of both internal and external contacts in the global standardisation community. Your skills in English are very good, both spoken and written.
