Are you passionate about technology and analyzing its safety aspects?
Do you want to make a difference for people inside or around our products in the sense of personal safety? Do you want to prevent incidents or accidents where our products are used? Do you like to investigate problems with delivered products and bring potential product safety questions to our safety decision forums, then this might be the job role for you!
This is us, your new colleagues
Volvo Buses is one of the world’s leading brands of buses and coaches, operating in more than 140 countries driven by the purpose of shaping the future of transport solutions making it possible for millions of people to reach their travel destination every day. Joining us you will be a member of the Global Warranty Support Department, organized within our Product Development function. Within this team we are responsible for developing warranty- and campaign systems, processes, and decisions, we handle supplier warranty recovery, and we do safety investigations. We are a team of 10 employees who aim to treat our customers and suppliers fairly, while we need to minimize payment to take care of quality problems. We have a broad area of responsibility, which means that together with us you have a fantastic opportunity to learn and to develop both professionally and personally, because when you succeed, we succeed.
This is how you could make an impact
You will receive questions about potential safety-related issues on our delivered products. You will investigate and take a first decision if the issue is a confirmed potential safety-related issue or not. If you judge it as a confirmed potential safety-related issue, you will prepare it and present it to the Product Safety Evaluation Committee (PSEC). If the Product Safety Evaluation Committee judges the issue to be a recommended safety-related defect, you will present it for a final decision in the Product Safety Committee (PSC). If PSC judges the issue to be a safety-related defect, the next step is for the quality team to develop a solution and to prepare a campaign request and for us to release a safety campaign, a recall.
Who are you?
If you are used to taking own initiatives, can navigate- and get results in a complex stakeholder environment and are able to create relationships through clear communication, integrity, and trust, then we believe you have the right attitude to be successful in this position.
