Product Safety Specialist

General: Global Laws & Regulations is the corporate competence centre for product related safety and environmental requirements and compliance. The department has the responsibility to monitor, influence and communicate the development of worldwide laws, regulations and standards that affect current and future construction equipment. The global role also includes responsibility to provide general interpretations of legal requirements and standards to all internal stakeholders and to lead internal forums for common safety and environmental efforts for all technology and product platforms. Main responsibilities: Gather, influence and communicate applicable legal requirements and standards Participate in or lead standards development through national and international standards committees Provide interpretation of relevant laws, regulations and standards Provide guidance and documentation for road homologation, type approvals and local national certifications Participate in specification setting of product safety targets Assist product and technology platforms with expertise for risk assessments Development of corporate safety inspection procedures Development of common safety instructions, decals and signs Provide guidance on safety related content in operator?s manuals and marketing publications Management of legal required technical documentation Competences: Must have B.Sc. in engineering or equivalent Ability to understand and drive product safety matters Interest in standards development Proficient in written and spoken English Good communication and social skills Holistic view Nice to have Practical experience from construction equipment industry Experience in product safety engineering Experience in risk assessments Experience in laws and regulations applicable for Earth moving machinery Experience in working with different cultures Good ability to manage time and prioritize work
