The Role
Nouryon Home and Personal Care is looking for an experienced individual to fill the Polymers Product Specialist position. The purpose of this role is to be a product steward for Emulsion Polymers, Solution Polymers, and Biopolymers. Further, this role focuses on customer inquiries for the benefit of growth, while managing the product life cycle. Successful execution of this role requires developing an understanding of our customers’ needs, our product portfolio, and external sustainability certifications. This role will play an integral in growing our sustainable product offering to our personal care customers.
The preferred locations for the role are Gothenburg, Sweden or Amersfoort, The Netherlands.


The Role’s Main Accountabilities
Customer Growth
• Answering prioritized customer questionnaires and inquiries
• Providing specifications and technical data for external product information (PDS, brochures, etc)
• Creating customer statements regarding product technical data and sustainability


Product Life Cycle
• Management of product life cycle, including new product introduction, product changes, and product eliminations
• Responsible for identifying candidates for product elimination to reduce complexity


Operational Discipline
• Owning and maintain the Active Product Listing for Polymers
• Evaluating product composition
• Evaluating HS codes to facilitate export of products
• Coordinating harmonization of product specifications between manufacturing sites
• Leading projects to improve our operational discipline


Your responsibilities
As a Polymers Products Specialist you will be an active member of the Global Product Management team. You will act as support of the sales and marketing team for the purpose of business growth, as well as develop new product statements as required and manage the PI&C process for Polymers. You will collaborate with Regulatory teams to ensure product stewardship practices are achieved and to ensure selling tools up to date and available.

Additional responsibilities:
• Prompt, accurate, and thorough responses to customers
• Determine new ways to improve our sustainability offering
• Keep current with market trends, competition, and regulatory trends
• Identify new customer needs and provide input for new product development


Job Requirements
To be successful in this position you have 5 years of relevant Product Specialist, R&D, Quality, PSRA or Manufacturing experience. You have strong project management skills, are detailed oriented and well organized. You also have experience in cross-cultural and cross-functional collaboration.
• BSc / MSc in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or related field
• Written and spoken fluency in English required
• Communication and interpersonal skills, customer focused, result oriented, problem-solving abilities
