Product Specialist Windchill at Application Operations

Windchill is a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software product. Today IKEA uses the applications FlexPLM, PDMLink, ArborText and ProductView on top of the Windchill platform.

As a Product Specialist for the Windchill technical platform you will be responsible and secure that the product can be used in the current and future infrastructure in accordance with the life cycle of the product. You will work together with application management and other areas within infrastructure to determine the highest level of system requirements needed and to meet the requirements within cost and technology constraints. You are responsible for and follow-up on license costs. You will be responsible for maintaining knowledge about how systems are related and ensure that dependencies are understood and managed correctly.

You will also:
-Develop operational models that will ensure optimal use of resources and the appropriate level of performance.
-Ensure the consistent and reliable performance of the infrastructure to deliver the required level of service to the business.
-Ensure that the infrastructure is configured to be effectively managed given the organizations technology architecture, available skills and tools.
-Define all tasks required to manage the infrastructure and ensure that these tasks are performed appropriately.
-Handle daily business, lead, support and educate co-workers assigned to the product, support projects and other activities connected to the product.

Is this the right challenge for you?

As a Product Specialist for Windchill you need:
-At least three years experience of working with Windchill System 9 and/or 10 versions.
-Master, Bachelor or other equivalent university degree within the area of computer science.
-Experience of working with Apache Web server and Tomcat Application server.
-Experience of working in Linux environment.
-Experience of working with Java.

For this position you will need to take initiative, identify your stakeholders and consumers, lead activities, be structured and understand and follow the ITIL based processes. You need to have the ability to identify, clearly describe and propose improvements. As a person you are service minded and a creative problem solver with the ability to co-operate with colleagues on all levels as well as with external vendors. You are a good communicator as well as a good writer and of course fluent in English both oral and written.

This is a permanent, full-time position to be filled as soon as possible, located in Älmhult.
